This is just something I posted on my myspace page-thought I may as well post it on here too!
Scary thought, huh? I was studying for my marketing class, where it was talking about China being the world leader in technology, and it hit me. You know, we hear it just about everyday how China is continually growing, but I don't think we ever really take that in and think about what it means to all of us. Folks, China is scary. I don't mean like monster scary, I mean..their population is growing at a SCARY rate, their technological prowess over the rest of the world is SCARY, the growth and size of their military is SCARY...yet nobody is acting scared. Everyone keeps talking about the middle east-Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan-you know why? Oil. Everybody's up in arms about oil and gas prices. Now I agree that something has to be done about oil prices...but something also has to be done about white collar jobs being outsourced offshore to India and China everyday, allowing China and India to have ANY technological upperhand to us, or ANY upperhand for that matter-basically giving things away, due to convenience. Everyday, we look at people who have lost 80lbs. as heroes, people who have won the lottery, artists who have died of drug overdoses "ahead of their time"...these people inspire us!? People, we need to collectively pull our heads out of our American asses, wake up and take action! This is the perfect time, I might add, as we will have a ton of elections going on this fall-and it's the perfect time to voice your opinion and let Washington know that it's not okay to give our home away. Regardless of what your beliefs, morals, political standings are, THIS IS YOUR HOME, do NOT let a foreign country sweep it out from under us! Just look at how much we've given away in the past 50 years! Think about where you'll be in 50 years-do you want to have as many rights as you have right now? I can guarantee that at the rate things are going, if nothing is done, it's a very, very strong possibility that what I'm speaking of could happen. Stand up for yourselves while you still can.
