WCWO returns to the Tyndall Armory on 4/24/10.
25 years ago, I attended my first ever live event at Tyndall on 2/23/85.
Some of the matches I can recall were:
Super Max vs. Calypso Jim
Bobby Colt vs. WWA Champ: Great Wojo
Bruiser/Moose vs. Maxx Bros. in street fight (nothing like street fights today, back then, they just had to rip all the opponents cloths off - LMAO)
Then in May of 1985, I attended my 3rd set of matches, and it was main evented as:
Buiser vs Wojo in hair vs. hair, and since Wojo had no hair, Dr. Jerry Graham got his hair cut. The match got so intense, it was a near mob, as police were holding fans back off the ring.
Anyone else have any stories about shows they seen at Tyndall?

I never attended a Bruiser show, even in Terre Haute which is closer to my home town of Brazil than Indy. The Terre Taute shows I remember were always hyped big on radio station WPFR and usually had one of the local djs involved in a match in some fashion. One of the djs might have been Bubba the Love Sponge under a different name since he worked at PFR at that time. Who knows. I sometimes regret not going, but back then I thought I'd maybe catch a show later on, thinking the shows would be coming around forever or being in college looking for keggers and drunk chicks. My first wrestling show was the WWF at MSG in 1987. that show was so bad it's amazing that I remained a fan afterwards. Nearly every match was tv jobber vs. tv jobber and the main which came just before intermission was Piper vs. Adonis in the EXACT same match move per move that was on tv a week prior.. Did get the see Crusher in a battle royal that night which made the night almost worthwhile. So Marcus, how was attendance at the Tyndall for those shows, was the place packed?

Went to several of Cohen's CWI/CWA shows back in the early nineties after attendance had really dropped for his shows. His first few shows there drew around six hundred from what I've heard, but by the time I got there it was closer to 125 and dwindled more from that point. Also an AACW show put on by Kamala Jr which Tommy Rich either no show or wasn't booked to begin with. Attended an off the hook ECW show in 98. That was a blast.

I am not sure how many where there, but the place was packed both times. If I remember right, we had to walk up stairs to the next floor for the ring, and I sat in the 2nd row for both shows. There was also a balcony where the general admissions seats were, and one of the 2 cameras were fixed up there. The other one was sitting on a stage, which was behind me.
The front row also had the same people sitting in them from show to show. You could see them on TV, and then see them at the show. It was neat for a kid that was 15 and his first show to see this.

OK . what I can remember here is that this was the fisrt place to go and see a wrestling show in Indiana . Then it when to the Fairgrounds , then to the Convention center in town .
But what I can always remember here of this building , it was filled with tobacco smoke and everyone was always dress-up at first like it was a big thing . Again not over dressed but in good clothing and it seemed to all ways be crowded for the event . And yes there was a balcony at the place to watch from that was always fun to run around up there as a kid .
Plus I was there for the boxing shows , too .
